FUTUREKIDS 2020-21

This is now our 20th year working with our school partners. In that time we have partnered with many types of schools from primary to secondary -to Deis level 1 to independents. Initially we were content providers and ran computer classes and camps for the students.

As time moved on, our partner schools have invested in technology, and we now have an open relationship with each school in order to attend to its individual needs.

We assist schools in integrating their technology into the classroom and online, including student projects and teacher training.

COVID 19

When Covid 19 closed schools in March 2020 we were able to get out partner school online

quickly with live /video classes, homework-project and exchange platforms.

One to one teacher classes ensured that the curriculum was quickly available to the children.

In September we will be offering online parent-school classes if another school closure occurs.

Our secondary schools are now using Google Classroom with Chromebooks for students and staff. The schools had Chromecasts connected to projectors allowing the staff to project/cast onto the whiteboards in cable free classrooms. The Chromebooks are a huge advantage over laptops with a simpler easy-to-use interface and fewer and faster updates.

We will continue to work with our school partners to support and develop new ideas for hybrid /online lessons.

We are now in a position to advise and assist your school whether its face-to-face, online or hybrid/blended learning.

STEP 1

Some of the primary schools were initially set up for G -Suite for staff only. Partnered schools now have G-Suite for their pupils .

We worked with each of these schools as to how best to set up distance learning for their students.

STEP 2

Once the classes were up and running this allowed us to build individual websites if necessary to support each school community of teachers, children and parents.

School website with class webpages are created and children are taught to upload their work to a project page, which includes text, pictures and video. This creates an online project display for all project classwork like a digital scrapbook, including video, podcasts as well as text and pictures.

We can work remotely with teachers as groups or individually to assist them with their needs. We have assisted teachers with their ideas for art, talent shows, quizzes, and class project work. We have also managed online graduation and assemblies.
